For the past 5-6 years a group of six couples and our children meet in Madison, IN for a family get-together and we always stay at The Broadway Hotel. We find it a great piece of small town Americana, the service has always been excellent, and the food is great. We especially love the filets - done just right!! When you get that many people together each year and they want to stay at the same place - that tells you The Broadway is doing something right. We love it!! I think anybody who checks it out will feel the same. Cheryl Watterson Granger, IN

We saw the Broadway on one of our trips to madison. I looked it up on the internet. the pictures of the restaurant were so pretty and the menu looked very good. WRONG!!!!! the put us in a room with exposed pipes in the ceiling, mismatched tables pushed together. Mismatched chairs. the tablecloths were plastic a had cigarette burns on them. there was a pool table with two gentlemen playing in the same room. we moved oursleves outside to the patio and pushed 2 tables together. again, plastic tablecloths with burns and mismatched chairs. we found the service slow and excuses made for it. the drinks were watered down and hardly had ice in them(probably from sitting too long to be picked up?) appetizers came our seperately and one at a time. 2 of us ordered the filets---big mistake! I don't think they were real meat! they were flat, and had a rubbery texture. Mine was undercooked, but I was afraid tosend it back. It was so rubbery that we couldn't chew it and had NO taste what so ever! the chicken was undercooked also! We never got the "world famous bread" that was on the menu and the special fries were just regular-old fries from the freezer. I'm not a snob, but at those pirces, I expect good, edible food, decent furniture to sit on, and clean tablecloths!. we were going to stay at the Inn, but after seeing the condition of the dinig room, we're afraid too. You need to update your internet pictures and work on the food. We have told other people not to go there.

I ordered the prime rib well done. Friends had ordered the ribs. Mine arrived med rare. I never send food back nor should I have to . One of my friends switch dinners with me. The waitress saw this I did a show and tell of the meat. The manager said the bill would be adjusted, NOT. Evidently there was not a manager on duty. Her response was since we did not send the food back we would have to contact the owner. Well it was my birthday too boot!!!! Okay it was about 8:30 pm they close at 9 p.m. not hard to figure out. I do know that I will not return and I will share my experience with others. As a previous business owner, I feel that the situation was not handled in the proper way.
